Marj served Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel as co-chair of his Transition Team for Arts and Culture and currently holds the position of vice-chair of the Mayor's Advisory Council on Arts and Culture.

Marj is the democratic half of the WGN Morning News “political duo,” sparring with GOPer Chris Robling.

 

Non-profit leadership
As a Board Member of the Chicago Foundation for Women, Marj chairs a new Communications Committee.
