CEO PRESENCE BEGINS AND
ENDS WITH THE RIGHT MESSAGE
Challenge: A high level manufacturing executive is a top performer, creating new markets and building the corporate bottom line even in a sluggish economy. But weak communications skills threatened to undermine his success. Working in a highly competitive culture, he needed to talk about his impact on the corporate bottom line in a way that would feel supportive to his boss, peers and clients.
Strategy: Working with the client, MHC created a message that reflected his personal strengths and goals. Using role play techniques, we adapted that message to a wide range of scenarios, from social networking to business meetings. We provided easy-to-remember tips and techniques to help stay on message and build support for his initiatives instead of debate.
Success: The client responded quickly to our training, returning to each session with reports of more positive interactions with boss, peers and clients. By videotaping a typical Board presentation at intervals throughout the multi-week training, we documented success in honing the client’s message and providing successful strategies to improve physical and verbal communications.
